An independent, UK-based editorial almanac of sports betting at greatbetuk.com. Published continually since 2025.
Great Bet UK began as a stack of notebooks beside the matchday telly — three editors, four pubs and a stubborn suspicion that most betting reviews online were written by people who had never placed a Saturday accumulator in their lives. We set out to write the guide we actually wanted to read: paper-feel, plain language, no breathless adjectives, and rankings driven by editorial taste rather than the size of the cheque.
We are a small team based in London and Manchester. We review UK bookmakers across markets, app quality, customer service, weekly promotions and — most importantly — payout behaviour. We bet our own money, recreationally, and never represent ourselves as tipsters. Our affiliate income exists because we list referral links to bookmakers; that income does not influence the order in which we publish. The Headline Pick is decided by an editorial vote each Monday morning over coffee.
